This scene may scared most, maybe all children. And because of his unwavering will, he went ahead and kill her. Hence symbolically the only human able to resist the infinity gauntlet (remember even the Hulk cannot overpower Thanos, lesson here: willpower and moral strength is stronger than muscles)Īnd the most disturbing part have to be when Gamora thought Thanos is defeated by the Soul Stone's wisdom, but even the most cruel tyrant love someone, and he loved her the most. Even if it's not logical, not culling people gives us our existence purpose. With that 1 sentence, reason and humanity is restore. The moral foil to his justification hence fall on Capt, "we don't trade lives". We may not want to go out there now and do genocide, but it'll not be because we don't want to, but because we don't have the will like Thanos. It's scary, really scary, and you may be convinced by Thanos and the Black Order. We all know that earth and society resources are finite, and so mass genocide and conquering others is the logical only way for earth and society to survive. And this may be surprising to many who had not seen him in the movie, but he make sense. He justify his actions to use the infinity stones for exterminating half the population, with the reason that it's to save the other half. The humor is top notched and good jokes to remember.Īnd yes, it's not bout the Avengers. All the actors have with very little screen time but they shine. Yes, it's the culmination of Marvel movies to this end. These are very intense concepts for kids to deal with. You have to know your kid ultimately and do allow time to discuss afterwards things that might seem heavy for them. I felt a little like I did after the Black Swan - just whoah. She was sobbing and I was able to bring up Avengers and let her deal with that. We finally did a couple of days later after another seemingly benign children's movie suggested the main character might die. We didn't really get a chance to talk about it afterwards and process it. Watching 2 hours of genocide, fighting, torture (a father torturing his own daughter and killing another!) leading up to the bad guy winning with an apocalyptic ending was too much for my little one. How a movie is rated should be more than how graphic the sex and violence are. I say this should be rated R because the psychological content was very intense. My 9 year old said this is not a movie I will watch again. It was very violent (which you expect) but this was long and sustained violence throughout almost the entire movie. It was fun seeing all the characters together but they didn't really bridge the gap between, "the Avengers aren't on speaking terms" to " oh hey thanks for showing up". I will say I have limited knowledge of the Marvel characters but love the Guardians and more recently Black Panther movies. I echo the sentiments of the review entitled "WAY too vivid and emotionally brutal!" Also the violence seemed more brutal than Wonder Woman, but maybe that is just me.
#Avengers infinity war movie review tv
I think seeing a movie like this on the big screen (and surround sound) just makes it waayyyy more intense than watching something on the TV at home. The next 30 minutes or so were fine (lots of things getting blown up, banter, fights, etc.), but then when another main character was brutally attacked she got very upset again, and I said we should leave and she agreed. She was distraught within the first (quite graphic) scene, and I said we should leave, but she didn't want to. She is in Grade 4 (although very young for her year) and the film was just WAY TOO MUCH for her. So interestingly, this film is rated M in Australia (15+) but PG-13 in the US.īased on the fact that my daughter saw and loved Wonder Woman (admittedly at home - also rated M in Australia) and hasn't generally had an issue being frightened in movies (and, let's face it, because I wanted to see it), I bought tickets before the film was classified in Australia.
